Giving Thanks Friday (on Thursday)
My prayer of thanksgiving on this Independence Day:
God, I thank you for those in our nation's military, past and present who have sacrificed greatly for the freedom we enjoy today. May we never take it for granted.
I thank you for those who have given the ultimate sacrifice of life. I pray you would grant peace and comfort to the families and friends they have left behind.
I thank you for the wounded, those who bear scars both physical and mental. I pray you would grant them strength and peace, that you would be their very help in time of need.
I thank you for those serving on soils domestic and foreign, that you would show them mercy and protect their hearts and minds as well as their bodies.
I thank you for the spouses and children of those serving, for their sacrifice is great. I pray you would bring support through family, friends and neighbors to help them with needs practical, emotional and spiritual during their loved ones deployment.
I thank you for the leaders of this great nation, from the President on down to our local mayors and city council members. I pray you would grant them wisdom and discernment, that they would seek direction from you and council from the the wise.
I thank you for the freedom we have in you, Lord, for where your Spirit is there is freedom. May we never take it for granted. Amen~
Happy 4th of July friends!
May this Independence day (and your weekend ahead) be filled with many reasons to give thanks!
