Giving Thanks Friday

This week I am thankful for:

Wispy white clouds floating on a sea of blue.

Sharing my garden space with the hummers and the buzzers.  (Side note:  When my husband and I were dating my Granddad had a "chat" with my then boyfriend wanting to know if he knew about THE birds and the bees.  Humiliating at the time but oh so funny now!)

The lovely, young 90 year old lady I got to hang out with during the long wait at the eye doctor's office.  She reminded me a bit of one of my Grandma's.  So thankful she shared a bit of her life with me.

Return of the butterflies.  We used to have so many around but the population seemed to dwindle.  This year they are back in full force in several varieties.  Hooray!

A lazy, rainy day perfect for catching up on laundry and such.

The dentist who was able to fix my fractured tooth easily, with no local anesthetic even AND on the same day they found it.

Do-over's (grace)!

What are you thankful for?

May your weekend be filled with wonder, laced with peace and bursting with love...

(Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good: his love endures forever. Psalm 118:1)

  3. Too cute about your Grandad, Mindy! My Dad used to question all the guys about their career ambitions. And by 'all the guys' I mean my friends who I used to go jogging and biking with. He saw them all as future potential husbands, lol.
I'm hoping you're going to share some of your recipes with me from your garden! Thank you for the breath of fresh air, friend!

  4. Love the photo and your thanks list. I am thankful for the honeysuckle growing up my porch posts. I pulled out two scrawny stems about two years ago from my childhood neighbor's bank in hopes that they would take root and grow. And they did! I love honeysuckle because it reminds me of sitting with my grandmother on her porch swing. Honeysuckle covered the rails surrounding her porch. Thanks for sharing, Mindy!

  5. Hi Mindy, isn't it funny about all the things that we were embarassed about when we were young and then we sometimes do something similar to our own kids. Anyway sounds like life is good in the PNW, take care!

  8. I am grateful to whoever played a favorite song on the radio this morning, at the lowest point of my day, and cheered me up.

  9. Just read this out loud to my teenage daughters. We live with my parents, and they can absolutely envision their grandfather having a similar talk with their future husbands! We have laughed until we cried over that. So glad you got your fractured tooth fixed. I did the same thing last week!
