Giving Thanks Friday (And #200!)
(Sunset last evening over a nearby farm)
This week I am thankful for:
The tiny yellow goldfinch whistling overhead from a bamboo branch. A welcome distraction from my reading.
The lovely lady who befriended me in the thrift store. She picked up a figurine of a mother holding a baby that she showed me before adding it to her cart. She told me it reminded her of when she had her baby. She shared that she was barely 16 when she got pregnant and that her boyfriend decided he didn't want either of them back then. Before I could even croak out how sorry I was she went on to tell me that "these American women" who think they want a man of a "certain" ethnicity (which I will leave out here but she seemed to think she and I were on the same page...) but the men just want someone to clean and cook for them and "all I like to cook are hot dogs!". She said her friends keep telling her she needs to date but she is happy being single with just herself to take care of and besides she is "too old for all of that". She continued on until we were both just laughing so much. Such fun getting to meet random people. She seriously made my day!
The moon in all it's full and glowing brilliance - the very best of nightlights.
The two elderly white-haired women out shopping together in Home Goods. One of them had on floral embellished bell bottom jeans - oh I just loved them! They had an overflowing cart which proves that you are never too old to change it up in the home decor department : )
The glorious sunsets we have been experiencing. Last evening I looked out the window and startled Mr. Husband with an "Oh, my!". He sat up straight asking, "What?!". "The sunset...". He went back to his television program but I had to run for the camera and spend some time outside. Who needs TV when you have sunsets to watch.
All of YOU who take the time to read these Giving Thanks Posts. Your comments on what you are thankful for touch my heart in the greatest of ways.
#200! Yep, this post is the 200th since I have been blogging - and I haven't ran out of things to say yet! Amazing isn't it? (grin) Again thank you to every one of you who have taken the time to stop by and share this space. I think 200 posts deserves a celebration and want to give you all a chance to celebrate with me. Be sure to stop by the blog or my blog Facebook page or Instagram next week (Monday - Friday) for a give-away of some sort every day. It is my small way of giving back just a portion of what you all have given me. Bless your hearts!
What are you thankful for?
May your weekend be filled with wonder, laced with peace and bursting with love...

Ohhh, congratulations on Number 200, Mindy!! Well done, friend. i have so enjoyed visiting and experiencing the special atmosphere that you create on your site. It's warm, welcoming, comical, heartwarming and so much more. Coming here each week is the highlight of my week!
ReplyDeleteI am thankful for the news that my 86 year old mother's biopsy was negative. Hallelujah! That my mammogram results were good for another year. That God allowed my son to travel from the east coast to the west coast and back again safely. I am thankful that I found Dandelion Diary and it brings me joy each time I read it. Congratulations on post 200. I am delighting in the archives. Thankful and Grateful.
ReplyDeleteSo happy you are here Sherry - thankful with you for those good results for both you and your mother. My mom and aunt are both breast cancer survivors so I understand the anxiety those mammograms can bring.
DeleteYay to #200!! I love your Giving Thanks Friday posts. :) I'm having coffee ALONE at Barnes and Noble working on writing stuff and I'm so thankful for that. There's a sweet young couple at the table across from me that can't keep from holding hands and stealing kisses, and I'm thankful for their sweetness. Take care, friend!
ReplyDeleteWhat a glorious sunset...be still, my heart! Among so many other things, I am thankful for my blogging friends who encourage me to keep on keeping on. And WOW...congrats on your 200th post! Have a great week, Mindy :)
