Finding rest
When "those" days come
when my spirit is restless
my day a little off
God speaks His greatest truths
to my heart.
Or maybe
I am just listening a little harder
leaning in a little closer.
Through the deafening noise of life
through the swirling thoughts of unrest
I pause
I listen
I rest
and
I am changed.
"Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my uoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light." Matthew 11:28-30

Such refreshing words here. That's a message I come back to over and over again.
ReplyDeleteMe too Kristin, over and over.
DeleteSuch a beautiful verse and an important post to remind us to listen.
ReplyDeleteI do love that verse too!
DeleteI love the whole yoke part of that scripture. (a frame or beam used when two are working together to pull a heavy load) I love the visual of Jesus and I as a team plowing through the tough days together...he lightening my load. God bless.
ReplyDeleteMe too Mary Anne - have heard some wonderful sermons on just that. God bless you too : )
DeleteHi Mindy! Your post today just evokes a stillness in my soul. I just love it. And I love that even in your restlessness, God still reaches out so you can hear. Isn't that something?
ReplyDeleteAnd you are listening, always listening. I know the Father just loves that about you. So do I.
Blessings my friend,
Ceil

ReplyDeleteHi Mindy,
ReplyDeleteGreat photo and you're right, we did pick the same verses...isn't it wonderful that we can pause and listen for Him, and receive rest? Nice to meet you :)
Beautiful words and a beautiful image, Mindy. Both going straight to the heart this morning. Thank you.
