Giving Thanks Friday
This week I am thankful for:
The vitamin D (ie: sunshine) in the air! I am soaking it all in while it lasts - such a treat this time of year.
Neighbors greeting neighbors. I just love to see neighbors out talking and waving to each other.
Our Seattle Seahawks - Superbowl bound : ) Even more thankful for the candid sharing of faith by many team members including quarterback Russell Wilson.
All the beautiful shells God created. I decorate with many of them and they just make me happy to look at.
Laughter. It truly is the best medicine. I spent yesterday afternoon with a good friend sharing laughs over lunch and earlier this week laughed in front of the computer with this hilarious post from Karmen (Chairs from the Curb).
Those who serve. From the military to the missionary to the waitress at the local sandwich shop to the volunteers serving in so many capacities - grateful for every one.
What are you thankful for?
May your weekend be filled with many reasons to give thanks!
(Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good: his love endures forever. Psalm 118:1)

shells, sunny blue sky, laughter, faith.... your list couldn't get any better!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Dawn : ) I have a feeling you see a lot more of that sunshine than I...
DeleteYour comment about laughter reminded me of my favourite quote from Victor Borge of all people, 'Laughter is the closest distance between two people'. Love it!
ReplyDeleteI think your Seahawks have an excellent shot at it, Mindy. I'll be cheering for them.
I'm thankful to be in touch with an old friend who I had lost contact with for almost 8 years. He found me by coincidence as he was looking for recipes! I couldn't be happier that he's back in my life.
Have a wonderful weekend, my sweet funny friend.
Good quote! How wonderful to reconnect with an old friend and how awesome that it was through recipes : )
DeleteMindy!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for the mention and link! But knowing that I made you laugh was enough. :) I certainly agree with you about shells. I have them all over my house as well. Stay warm this weekend--we are freezing and shoveling here in Ohio!
I just read your post out loud to my husband last night. He thought it was pretty funny too (unless you were the man with no pants he said haha). Hope you thaw out soon Karmen!
DeleteHi Mindy, So nice of you to drop by Blackberry Ln. This is a lovely thankful list. It's been a long time since I've collected shells, but they are beautiful. Cloudy and cold in GA this weekend. Spring can't come soon enough but I am thankful for the change of seasons and God's beauty all around us. Have a blessed Sunday. Mildred
ReplyDeleteI am anxious for spring as well! I think the different seasons make us appreciate each one better, don't you?
DeleteWhat a beautiful list of gratitude, Mindy. I'm thankful for the week I spent in a motel this week. A maid to make my bed and gather the used towels. And just as thankful to be home and God's protection driving through swirling snow.
ReplyDeleteHow nice to have time away! So many are having just awful weather. Praying you stay safe.
DeleteWhat a gorgeous picture! I wish you lived close to me-we could definitely be real life friends. Love your heart!
ReplyDeleteSO thankful you commented on the picture since it was not my own and I forgot the link to the source! That is one goal I have for myself is to get better skilled with my own camera. I agree - we could be real-life friends : )
DeleteHello dearest Mindy! I always enjoy your Friday posts - it is such a good reminder that we have SO MUCH to be thankful for and I must say that I am thankful for our Denver Broncos who are headed to the Superbowl :) hehe I am from Colorado so I just have to be a teeny tiny bit ornery. It should be a great game!
ReplyDeleteHave a blessed and joy-filled week, friend. Much love and big hugs!
I commented on your blog but will say again, I am so happy they will be playing the Bronco's this Sunday - you have a great team too, Stephanie!
DeleteHi Giggle Girl! Congrats on the Seahawks! My son lives in Seattle, and he is very proud of the 'rag-tag group of no-name players that made it.' Yep, he's pretty proud!
ReplyDeleteI found a video of Derrick Coleman that was so inspiring! It's on my FB page for the blog. You should see it, it's really great. (facebook.com/surroundedbythespirit)
I was just at Pam's blog, and I saw your comment about why your blog name is 'dandelion diary.' I never knew that was the reason for the name, and I loved it. Thank you for explaining it!
Keep on laughing my friend!
Ceil
I have watched that video and this morning the news showed him meeting two hearing impaired twins who had written to him, felt they inspired them. He greeted them in person, shared hugs and then presented the two girls, their brother and their parents with Superbowl tickets. Inspiring indeed : ) PS: That was Pam's explaination of why she has dandelions on her header but it is similar to my blog "theme" which you can find in my first ever post: http://adandeliondiary.blogspot.com/2012/09/gather-faith-collect-hope-scatter-love.html
DeleteThe picture is beautiful and I love all the list of grateful things. My favorite is the sunshine because I'm thankful for that every morning when the sun rising. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteWe can always count on the sun to rise : )
